Installation Instructions and Care for your Door Handle Covers, Mirror Covers, Gas Cap Covers, Etc

First and foremost, if you have ordered a color matched product please make sure they are a good fit and that the color is a reasonably close match to your car color and to your liking BEFORE installing and removing the tape, etc. Since automotive vinyl doesn’t always come in the exact same colors as certain car colors, we try to match it up as best as we can. If you feel your color is not a close enough match do not continue with installation and contact us for a replacement or refund

Inspect the surface on which the trim is to be applied. Surface must be free of all dirt, oil, grease and wax. It is best to use some rubbing alcohol to prime the surface that you are going to be adhering the trim to. The application surface must not be too cold and the recommended minimum temperature should be 50 degrees. If you are applying your trim in the Winter months and you think it is too cold use a blow dryer to warm up the surface or wait until the weather warms up in the Spring

Wash area with clean water and then dry completely.  Wipe the area where the trim will cover a second time with rubbing alcohol -- it definitely helps the with the adhesion

Determine exact trim piece location and make sure your piece is an exact fit before adhering it to your car. If you have smart key vents or holes please make sure your overlays line up correctly and do not block off your smart key access. Also some handles, including Mazdas, Hondas and older Chevys are “side-specific” and are slanted or angled in such a way that they won’t fit correctly if they are put on the wrong side of the car

Remove protective film from adhesive (if applicable) as well as the outer wrap on the double sided tape then carefully align and press firmly over entire trim piece to assure proper adhesion

We suggest that you do not spray a car wash wand directly on your door handles.  Direct hard and aggressive contact with a sprayer might cause the vinyl to peel off or accelerate the peeling process

If you have ordered door handles with custom lettering we recommend, when drying your door handles, that you dab the vinyl lettering with a dry micro-fiber towel and not “grind away” at them with a towel, etc. You will run the risk of damaging the lettering

If you have ordered color-matched chrome mirror covers, in order to keep them looking new and to keep them protected from bugs, chips, etc, we suggest you get paint protection film (clear bra) put over them.  There are clear bra / paint protection installation shops everywhere. While this is not a necessity by any means, it will help protect the surface of your chrome and vinyl trim as well as keeping the vinyl from peeling off or getting scuffs and imperfections

Lastly, Please do not use a Carnuba-based wax on your colored vinyl trim.  There are waxes that are made specifically for Automotive Vinyl Wraps

PLEASE NOTE – IN THE HOT SUMMER MONTHS THE GLOSS BLACK DOOR HANDLES WILL BE WRAPPED IN NEWSPRINT AND NOT PUT IN THE PLASTIC POUCHES / ZIPLOCKS TO AVOID THE PLASTIC BAGS FROM MELTING OR LEAVING IMPERFECTIONS/GHOSTING ON THE HANDLES DUE TO EXCESSIVE HEAT DURING TRANSIT

If you have ordered Gloss Black Handles and your door handle covers have “cutouts” for your door sensors, we have included black vinyl to cover the sensors.  Vinyl wrap is “breathable” so your remote will still work even with the vinyl over the sensor. This will allow the black on the sensor to blend in with the door handle
